Hi, I’m Edder, the Youth Services Assistant here at the Caldwell Public Library. You might recognize me from the summer reading desk, if you attended a program here at the library, or maybe from one of our storytimes at the plaza; if you have been wondering who that person is next to Ms. Ellie at all these programs, I am happy to finally answer that for you. I want to start off by saying that I am so excited to join the team at the library and to serve the community of Caldwell.

As part of youth services, my job is to support the planning and presenting of youth programs, maintain our youth collections which include books, movies, and games, to serve as a point of reference for recommendations on books, collaborate with other librarians to identify and introduce quality resources to our patrons, and more. As a bilingual speaker, one of my goals is to bring bilingual/Spanish storytimes back to the library, and to other community partners.

Most days you’ll be able to find me in the children’s area, however, as I continue to familiarize myself with the vast amount of resources the library has to offer, depending on the day you might also find me at the reference desk, at an outreach event, or at a tutoring appointment. Working at the library presents me with the perfect opportunity to learn new information that I can share with others and also help fulfill the informational needs of our patrons.

I grew up in Nampa, Idaho where I graduated from Nampa High School, and I currently find myself at Boise State studying psychology. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, doing anything that will satisfy my competitive side, watching movies, cooking, and hanging out with my dog, Rex.
