Meet the Staff: Marina Rose
The mission of the Caldwell Public Library is to "provide services and information to connect, enrich, and inspire our community." Library staff strive to provide the best possible experience for our users - both in-person and online. We understand the importance of building trust with our users and helping them find the resources they need. Over the next several months, we will highlight each of our staff members and the work they do to provide excellent library services to you - our users.
Marina Rose - Adult Services Librarian
Hi! My name is Marina - you can usually find me hanging out around the Information Desk near the computers, but I also teach and assist with the library's adult programs. I have worked at the Caldwell Library, in various positions, since 2009, and I recently earned my Masters degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University (2018).
On any given day, I am available to answer general technology questions related to the library's computers and 3-D printers, as well as personal laptops and tablets. All Adult Services team members, myself included, are available for one-on-one technology tutoring and research assistance.
In addition to technology help, I also maintain the library's local history collection stored in our Idaho Room. We are in the process of digitizing and organizing this collection so it is more easily accessible. I love this collection and am always excited to help our users track down information about Caldwell's history.
Another part of my job is planning and presenting programs for our adult users. Some of my favorite programs have been the seasonal, monthly Crochet 101 class, the monthly book club, and the occasional film screening. I also enjoy connecting with people from the community to bring FREE quality programs to the Caldwell Library. If you have a suggestion for a program or event, or you have a talent you'd like to share, please send me an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Although I enjoy all the aspects of my job, the best part is connecting our users with resources that fill their information needs. I am honored to be a part of a team that carefully selects resources - digital and physical - that will best serve Caldwell and our community members. I like to say that if I don't know the answer, I can find someone who does!
So if you have a question and see me in the library - please interrupt me!
