Meet the Staff: Ellie Epperson

Updated: Aug 27, 2021

The mission of the Caldwell Public Library is to "provide services and information to connect, enrich, and inspire our community." Library staff strive to provide the best possible experience for our users - both in-person and online. We understand the importance of building trust with our users and helping them find the resources they need. Over the next several months, we will highlight each of our staff members and the work they do to provide excellent library services to you - our users.

Hi I’m Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Ellie. I’ve been with the Caldwell Public Library for about 6 years, first as the Youth Services Assistant then more currently as the Youth Services Supervisor. I started working in libraries in high school as a Page before heading off to college. I then worked as a library assistant at the Ada Community Libraries before coming to Caldwell full-time. You can usually find me at the Children’s Reference desk, helping in different areas of the library, or in a program. I can assist you with finding/recommending a book, working on the computer, or answering questions about the library in general. My specialty is Youth Services!

I have my Master’s Degree from San José State University in California and have been using the knowledge to help the Caldwell Public Library continue to grow its resources and services.

I help lead several different programs for all age groups. I read, sing, and dance with the preschool crowd Thursdays at 10:30 am. On Tuesdays at 4:00 pm, the ‘Tweens and I do crafts, activities, STEAM, and other cool things.

I also assist with behind the scenes things like collection development for those under 18, program planning, early literacy initiatives, and more. I try to help out wherever I’m needed; I enjoy learning about all the different aspects of running a library. You can also find me out in the community doing library outreach. I am always learning more about the great city of Caldwell!

My favorite part of the library is giving access to resources, materials, and knowledge to everyone in the community. Everyone is welcome!

Two new things at the library I’m excited about: our new video game collection and the Playaway LaunchPads!
