About Library Card Sign-Up Month

Library Card Sign-Up Month. let your imagination sing at the library. Cara Mentzel & Idina Menzel, Library Card Sign-Up Month Honorary Chairs.

Established September 1987, National Library Card Sign-Up month set forth to put a library card in the hands of every child.

This year's Library Card Sign-Up Month national theme is "Let Your Imagination Sing at the Library." Tony Award-winning performer, actress, singer-songwriter, and philanthropist Idina Menzel (you might recognize her as the voice of Elsa in Disney's Frozen movies) and her sister author and educator Cara Mentzel will serve as honorary chairs of Library Card Sign-Up Month 2022.

As honorary chairs, Idina and Cara will remind everyone that one of the best places to find your voice is at the library. And during Library Card Sign-Up Month, they want you to explore all the library has to offer, like new books, access to technology, and educational programming for all ages.
